Some years ago we changed our roasting method from the traditional drum style of roasting to the SIVETZ fluidised bed roasting system. The SIVETZ system produces a far superior and much more consistent roast time after time. There are many other benefits to this method of roasting. It produces a brighter, cleaner, improved tasting and more aromatic coffee bean.
The roasted beans from a Sivetz fluid bed roaster have a clean smooth taste, that does not leave an “after- taste coating” in your mouth. We have been especially pleased with our decision to change our method of roasting to Hot Air. Winning the New Zealand Coffee awards confirmed to us that the decision was a sound one.
You know, we’ve got it pretty good here in New Zealand. You could complain about the price of milk or traffic jams, but in terms of the big picture, we’re lucky to live in this part of the world. Many people are not so fortunate. Which is why, at AVALANCHE, we chose to go FAIRTRADE.
